what do you not understand about copy righting?

the characters themselves are copy righted. using them and their likeness is grounds for a fine. it's a federal offense. plagiarism is when you copy someone else's work and use it as your own... copying a character that is copy righted is plagiarism. you dont have to copy the whole series to be wrong, simply using their appearance is against the rules, because that's what they did for their story, and using it without giving credit would be plagiarism.

your only making the situation worse then it already is. i backed down and said whatever, i dont like it but you can do it. but then an idiot comes along and decides to preach bullshit, and now nobody wins.

i think i get it. you assume i called you a dumbass for mentioning plagiarism ...

the bolded part is where you said 'failed'. that's what made me call you a dumbass. even though you are right, it's not what i meant entirely.

honestly, i got my terms confused, im sorry. in this case it wouldnt be plagiarism, since plagiarism's definition states that it is the act of claiming original ownership of said work. instead, it would be copyright infringement, since the copy right holder did not give you permission to use said character design. that isn't even the big problem i have with using canon characters. this board itself is one big copyright infringement in itself for using the simple idea of evangelion without the author's consent. c'mon, you live in flordia, we share the same laws here.

i apologize for insulting you, i'm wrong here. i just have a big issue with using canons.. it just doesn't sit right with me. but i really cant do much about it, its not my board, nor do i want to interfere with the pleasure you would have with controlling it.

im going to shut up now, im confusing myself

Mmmkay, this is what I think.

We should just stay c-a-n-o-n until before Kaoru arrives. That way, we're still anticipating the last of the Angels and, as a result, more EVA units will be developed. And no, we shouldn't get those dummy-plug ones that look freaking white ganguro girls.

Actually If Shiro was the one who wanted to create this board and is head Administrator, I hate to break it to you, If he says no, then you all are over ruled.

My opinon, Helll no you shouldn't Cannon fy the board. To do that would drive people like me away that honestly don't know squat about the series.

A well known fact on Cannon site. You and me can die, but the Cannons are invincible and that seriously takes the fun out. Not to mention since the story is about the Cannons, there would be no place for everyone else.

What pisses me off is that you all did this. Over what? Four canons, that are bound to die? Yes, break it to you; I'm not really the canon-ish type, and all characters will be played fairly. If a canon is killed, then they are killed, and most likely we'll make some type of alternate or plot.

Aswell, no. Plagerism is when you Specifically state that you OWN a creation made by someone else. Do we own this? No. Did we ever SAY we did? No. Do you see any copyrights anywhere? No. So till then, this is not plagerism, or stealing in that matter.

Unless told otherwise, canons will be played by people THAT I PICK. Alright? So no claiming crap. Because frankly this has all put me in a bad mood, and I can show you all what an asshole I can be. As it looks, Shinji is played by me, Asuka by the person who has her name, Rei is played by my friend who asked first. Not you Ketsueki. She's been a member here since I created the forum, and when I asked her opinion on it she already called. Then you did shortly after.

Fairs fair, she gets Rei.

Misato is up for grabs to whom I deem worthy. No idiots will be playing canons, no sucky rpers, no bad fighters, NOTHING. And Kumiko knows how strict I can be when it comes to this. However, a few things as I stated is that canons will die if you can successfully kill them.

If you can't, stop being a bitch and deal. So, we have four canons jumping around. Big deal. Not like we have fifty of them like on some Naruto RP, or fourty of them like on a Bleach RP. Note the difference and stop yer whining.

Comprende?

So, for those not reading between the lines. The sites canon'd for those four characters only. Anyone got a problem with it can bring it to me. I dare you.
